Assigning 4th button on Micro |
 |
|
I've been through the manual trying to find out how to assign the 4th button on the Micro to a parameter but it really doesn't explain it at all except for mentioning that it can be done. Is it knob 4 in the knobs pop-up....? But it's not a knob is it? It's a button that probably can only select something or toggle something on or off I would guess.......Since the Micro only has a few knobs I want to utilize everything at my disposal. Any micro users using this button? _________________ Apple Mac Pro 3.1 2.88 GHz. Intel Xeon Quad

Assign it as a knob 4. It works like a knob with binary state - minimum and maximum value only. |

Right. I figured it out........Like you said, assign it to knob 4 and use it as a toggle on/off switch for those modules that have those. I'm using it in a patch right now that utilizes sequence modules and a diode, using knob 4 as an on/off for the diode module. The only problem being that if you have 3 position switches it'll only toggle between 2 of them but still it's a nice feature that every Micro user should be aware and take full advantage of.......especially if you're using it live! _________________ Apple Mac Pro 3.1 2.88 GHz. Well, this is also useful for other modules as well, eg. if You want to mute some specific channel on a mixer assign it to its knob, it will go from 0 to max with this button, or assign it to a morph group, to drastically change a bunch of parameters (change a drum kit sound etc.) - sometimes it's even more useful than a traditional knob.

Hi
I find that on my micro if I associate the button on the left to knob 4/morph group 4 I am still not getting any control over the knobs and switches assigned to morph group 4.
I'd say it was a mechanical problem but the switch works perfectly as a shift key for the other knobs -
Am I missing something?
Has anyone else had a switch which fails as a midi controller but works normally otherwise?

I don't know if I understood You correctly, but I think You're using it wrong. The 4th knob/button is shift+down on a micro, not the shift itself.
(Down, meaning the lower button on the right, but I guess it's not the problem, since it is clearly labelled). Assign any paramter to Knob4, then press shift+down and if it doesn't work, then there might be something wrong with the hardware. |

ahh!! - okay - that makes a deal more sense. Funny I've had the micro for at least 4 years and never even noticed the extra controller was there.
but I wonder why they didn't add the shift button as an on/off toggle?
many thanks
