Dual Core2

Hello Mac users,
i am a pc user for many years and i decide finally to jump into mac platform.For sure i would like to ask u many things but i can find many answers in the forum.I was wondering basically if it was good to wait till the end of summer before i buy my macbook pro cause Intel announced the dual core2 processors.I deside to make buy the macbook pro with 15,4 screen and +the 7200 hard drive and maybe some more memory.I am a cubase sx user.Give me your knowledge and your advices cause very soon i will be member of the apple users family.

I doubt that the current Macbook Pro formfactor will allow the dual core2 as a direct replacement for the core duo. That said, I doubt any of the similar laptops from any vendor will handle this. The cpu specs including size and power consumption .. heat dissipation etc.. of the Dual Core2 class are a bit more serious than of the core duo. However, the Intel campus is kinda going all "Pigs In Space" on us. They are announcing all sorts of crossbred and transmogrified CPU families all the time.
