I received my used G2X today, and unfortunetaly the post office was a bit rough on it. One key was sticking up, so I took the thing apart, and found a piece of plastic used as a guide and key stop had broken off the chassis of the keyboard.

I'll be going after the post office for some money, and have sent a note to the U.S. distributor to check on the cost of a new keyboard. I may be able to repair this but it'll be a challenge and may not be a lasting repair.

Here's what it looks like:

That doesn't look nice at all Sad

Maybe you could persuade Clavia or its distributer to send you a replacement kbd to build it in yourself ? You could still do some work on it then.

I think I've fixed it, at least temporarily. Now all I need to do is learn how to use this thing. I'm waiting for a price from the U.S. distributor on a new keyboard, I doubt this mod will last long.

By the way, these things are not particularly substantial, I don't recommend taking a G2X on the road.

Here's the key with a new keystop on the actual key, for some reason it didn't line up as well as I had hoped:

and here's the actual stop/guide, now screwed to the keybed chassis (for some reason, it shows up upside down on Photobucket):

Maybe all that slotcar tinkering finally paid off.
