Hi,

I'm using the G2 since 2 years. Now, I want to use the editor on my new Intel Macbook (2Ghz). I' ve read in the e-mail list that it should work perfectly, but on my machine it doesn't. The editor is really slow, takes more then 40% CPU and my Logic 7.2 crashed, when I started both at the same time.

Anyone with similar problems?

So one could ask clavia together, to bring a DualCore version for the G2 editor.

I feel like my Editor doesn't work as smoothly on the MacBook as on my old PC, but it's acceptable. The Demo, on the other hand, is almost useless on the Intel Mac.

/Stefan

I hera the same from other macintel owners too. It seems that the G2 Editor is far from perfect when running in Rosetta mode.

We have currently 2 alternatives, get secondhand G4 for the G2 Editor or wait for good old Clavia to update the application a clean universal binary according to Apple´s guidelines.

It uses a lot of cpu!
when i am running the G2 editor on my macbook it gets really hot and uses a lot of cpu wich is stupid sinds it is only a interface for the g2.
i hope they fix this soon but i don't expect this to happen Sad

I asked them about this.. as ever the Modular and OSX is the lowest priority for Clavia.

Hello Steven,

This is not really planned for the time being so I´m afraid I have no info to give when this might happen, take care

What about performance of the editor under bootcamp?

I will have an Intel Mac very soon, and I'm hoping to run the G2 demo. The G2 demo on my equally fast PC (compared to my old Ti PB) runs at twice the speed than the Mac version Sad

Bootcamp erformance will be just fine. Keep in mind that the bootcamped mac is PC and performs like any other PC with the similar specs.

Unfortunately, I think they only have the capacity to work on one project/intrument at a time. How about Parallels ($79)? If anyone tries that let me know how the editor runs on XP inside OS X via Parallels.

I intend to get Parallels, so I'll post the results here Smile

wow. this brings a scary thought to mind. could it be that many developers will build for windows and tell macintel users to "use bootcamp"? that would be highly unfortunate. not as bad as leaving mac users high and dry, but still not an ideal situation.

I hope you're right, but i can't help but think of the day we put 32 Nord Modular Racks into storage because Clavia claimed they weren't going to develop for os X.
