What do you mean by "external audio player" ? Are you talking about synths or a CD player or instruments and microphones?
To get sound into a computer, you'll need some sort of sound card (PCI slot inside computer) or external audio interface (USB or FireWire). Which you get will be determined by your needs (quality, number of simultaneous channels, microphone preamplifiers or no, etc) and your budget.
Give a little more detail and I'm sure we can get you squared away.
Also, to electro-music! |

Well, then you just need some kind of sound card or audio interface. You can spend anywhere from $50 to $5,000 on one of those, as there are many many options. Of course, it's very likley that your computer already has some kind of sound card in it. Do you have a Mac or a PC? How old is it?
Is this a regular two-channel (stereo) tape recorder? Like for cassette tapes? If so, that will most likely have RCA jacks for it's outputs. So all you'd really need is a cable to connect the stereo RCA jacks to the input of your computer's sound card. If you already have a sound card in your computer, it will most likely have an 1/8" stereo mini-jack. It would be near the headphone jack, and look just like it.
If you need any more help, I'd need to know more about your computer (i.e. Mac or PC and if you already have a sound card) and your tape recorder (what kind of input / output jacks it has).
It could be that all you need right now is a cable.
Once you get your tape recorder connected to your computer, I recommend using Audacity to record sound. It is free, and it will work on almost any computer. |

| To get your work done, all you have to do is, install a good music recording software. For this I would suggest FlexiMusic Wave Editor, after Installing the software, now connect your Mic or any external audio player at the back of the PC. While using the software you get an option asking through which you like to record ( for this click the option which is related to the external audio player being used ) with this your recording gets completed. |
