Rob Hordijks G2 tutorial - in pdf or .doc ? |
 |
|
Greetings,
I ordered my G2 a week ago, and they're waiting for the dsp expansaion before they ship it out to me - annnnyways, Rob's a bit of a legend so I guess reading his tutorial would be wise between now and the G2 arriving...
so has anyone got it in a printer-friendly file format ? (I hate reading lengthy pieces on screen)
I listened to some mp3's of noodles - WOW, theres alot of talent floating around here.

For your next G2 you could easily build in the expansion your self, so you wouldn't have to wait that long.
AFAIK Rob never published a printable version of the G2 writings he did.
Just curious, have been there a couple of times, where about are you in eire ? _________________ Jan

Jan, are you serious about building the expansion oneself? _________________ Cheers,

he means installing it yourself (right?)
I know i could install it easily, but I'm buying the G2 and the expansion (and a few other bits & pieces) and its just their policy to wait until everything is there before they ship it to me (rather than making 2 or 3 deliveries) - as it turns out I will still have to install it myself anyways - which is simple I take it.
I guess I'm going to have to cut & paste Rob's tutorial and make a doc out of it - I'll check the yahoo group, maybe they have it
I'm from west of Ireland Blue, lived in Cork too - I see you're from Holland - I lived in Amsterdam too, was homeless in den haag for a while and lived on the beach (in a tent with no poles) for a few weeks - that was before I got a job and a place to live
blue hell you're noodles are excellent, are they completely 'automatic' or do y ou tweak a little while they play ?
they are ambient works in and of themselves....sound better than alot of stuff I've heard on the net - I'd run them through some reel-to-reels to compress them a little and maybe degrade the signal...
yummy stuff |

Nah .. guess it wouldn't make me happy or rich. "Build in" I wrote, or meant to at at least, which for me would be the same as "install", but maybe it's not _________________ Jan

Spent some holidays in county Sligo, with going down and up occasionally into Mayo/Galway and Donegal along the coast mostly. It's very beautiful over there.

Now that's something !
Hope you were overhere in the 80ties, those times were not as bad for the homeless as the current ones.
Thanks for your kind words about the noodles.
And yes they are meant to auto play strictly (except for one or two maybe). I did have a keyboard version of the NM "Classic", but ended up never using the keys or the knobs. So for the G2 I decided to go for the engine. After all I still have a MIDI sax might I ever want to play it again. _________________ Jan

No, it wasnt the 80ies - was 2 years ago!
I ordered the g2 engine too, I have other sequencers/controllers so the keyboard version just wasnt suitable or worth the money to me...
Donegal is beautiful, Clare is beautiful, Cork/Kerry - beautiful, Galway & Mayo are pretty too.....but I dont know Sligo!
Those noodles are really great, I cant wait to get my hands on the G2 if this kind of generative stuff is possible! |
