I just have to announce this, as it truly rocks, if you are into trackers :X
Totally old school, based on FastTracker II, great interface,
everything is good about this tracker.

Why am I still writing on this message?
I better go make some more tracker tunies! =D |

I love this thing. I have absolutely no idea how to play it. I feel like a complete newbee. It's an uncomfortable feeling, but it's good, like excersize. I love the sounds. I can get it to load xm files and play them and that's about it. How do get started composing with these things? Teach me O master... _________________ --Howard

Thanks very much, Static.
When you say everything you type on the keyboard will go into the pattern - Do you mean on a MIDI keyboard or on the QWERTY keyboard? If it is the QWERTY then where is the map.
Seems rather difficult to go from this interface to musical results, but you and others certainly can do it. I'm really impressed. This is a special skill. _________________ --Howard

Nooo, not MIDI keyboard. its all using the QWERTY keyboards.
for example, a C note would be Z key, C# is S , D is X , D# is D,
E is C , F is V , F# is G, etc etc
the upper octave used is
C = Q , C# = 2, D = W, D# = 3 , E = E , F = R , F# = 5 , etc etc
I hope that made any sense at all :X
the best way to check is loading another persons XM file
and see how they made the track =D
It would be easier to show it in a visual way :X
Tracking is not at all as sequencing. you dont plop out sounds with your mouse or play them on a MIDI synth, you actually "program" how the whole track should sound =D , hilarious amount of fun, and amazing shit can be made this way! ...i cant get enough :X
however, i understand that it can seem a bit messy and strange for people
that have not used these. I made all my music 1994-2001 in trackers,
so its just recently i started with sequencers.
(but i feel more at home with trackers actually) |

Tutorial vid :X Subject description: Hi there |
 |
|
Ive tried making a short tutorial video on loading
samples and making loops.
and then applying them on the track, and some effects.
http://jaedernaub.ath.cx/strobe-tut01.avi
Ive tried really hard in squeezing the size down of the file
without affecting too much of what is happening on the screen.
its 8Mb, and 2:41 in length.
Its encoded with DivX 6.0 , so i think you need that to play it.
hope it helps any ! , if there is something other you may want
video coverage on I can do that too. =) |

Great video, Static. Thanks. That helps quite a bit. It will take a long time to digest that. I'll watch it a few times and try to make some music. Then I'll ask questions. _________________ --Howard
