Can anyone describe to me how to post a screenshot of a patch in windows XP? I'm using a Mac to do the actual editing and interfacing with the Micro but use an HP Media center 873n PC to connect to broadband. I have the editor installed on the PC as well so I'd be able to post from there. I know how to post a patch as an attatchment....but how do I post a screenshot? Thanks to anyone in advance!

If the attachment is an image it will show up as such when posted as an attachement.
You can use a tool like Onyx to set which image format the screenshots on the mac will be saved to.

Some of us have access to online storage, so in that case you post a link using the img tags. ImageWell is a great tool if you can upload images to your own webserver form a mac. ImageWell can even format the link the way you want it so it can be pasted directly into the post.

If you don´t have access to some online storage with a http share on it , then images must be posted as attachments.
Was this of any help?

On XP, you just make sure the window you want to scrape is selected and click ALT-PrtScn. That puts the image of the widow in the buffer.

Then open any grapical editor program like Paint Brush, or Irfanview, http://www.irfanview.com/ , which is free and highly recommended. When you are in the graphics editor, just hit paste (CNTL-V) and then your image is in the editor. You can crop and edit as you wish. Save the file (PNG is the best format for web documents) and upload as an attachment.

To use the IMG BBCODE tag, you must have uploaded the file to an external web server, as Elektro80 explained.

Yes, good job. Notice how the picture is "thumbnailed" on the forum, but if you click on it it will be loaded in its full-sized representation. I would add a little note to indicate that this is a thumbnail, but the guy that developed the attachment code is working on a new version, so I'll just wait for that.
