Here is an example of a physical modeling patch designed to behave like an acoustic instrument in a certain respect.

This is a plucked string patch that doesn't sound particularly wonderful IMO, but does demonstrate how to pluck a harmonic on the G2.

String players know that by resting the finger lightly on a string in certain (harmonic) positions you can obtain a sound/note that is different
from the sound/note you get when you press the same string down in that position.
One well-known example of this is the guitar chord at the beginning of "Roundabout" by Yes.

A really skilled guitar player can pick a harmonic on any note by "pinching" the pick and picking at exactly the right place for that note.

Anyway, with this G2 patch, the mod wheel controls the amount of harmonic damping (i.e how much the finger is lightly touching the string,
or how much the pick is "pinched" ...), while the harmonic is selected on page A2.

Note that you can do "negative" harmonic damping with this G2 patch, which would be physically impossible on a "real" instrument.

Also, there's no reason you can't damp at a harmonic point that is off the end of the string on the G2 -
which again would be physically impossible on a real instrument.

Model the basic behavior correctly, and interesting other stuff tends to fall out from there ...

If you create interesting variations on this I'd like to hear them.

I had to change the output on the SynthOut module to FX 1-2 from Out 3-4 in order to hear anything.

Whoops - I usually have all 4 outputs connected so I didn't
notice that I was bypassing the FX. Here's a better version
of the same patch.
