Ricochet Gathering - Mojave 2003
Ricochet Gathering - Mojave 2003

This is a CD that documents the improvised music performed at the latest gathering of electronic music fans and, especially, Tangerine Dream fans. The international list of artists includes:
AirSculpture (UK) - Pete Ruczynski, John Christian, Adrian Beasley
Free System Projekt (Netherlands) - Marcel Engels
    Paul Lawler (UK)
    Bill Fox (USA)
    Dave Brewer (USA)
Star Sounds Orchestra (Germany) - Steve Schroyder, Jens Zygar
    Wolfram Spyra (Germany)
    Volker Koenig (Germany)
Many of these musicians had attended previous Ricochet Gatherings. Many have multiple CDs in their discography.

Ricochet Gathering - Mojave 2003 is a two CD set of mostly Berlin School music, although the boundaries are stretched here and there due to all the influences brought to the table by so many talented musicians. Add the inspiration of the Mojave Desert, the troup of fans/friends, and the locals and visitors at Nipton, California, and you have the makings of an extraordinary listening experience. This CD is the first release by Ricochet Dream Records. This and other labels' CDs may be mail ordered from Vic Rek who will be happy to fill your order and tell you about the next Ricochet Gathering in Jelenia Gora,Poland in September, 2004. The musicians who currently are planning to be there are: Sunya Beat (Germany) - Harald Grosskopf, Steve Baltes and Axel Heilhecker; AirSculpture (UK); Star Sounds Orchestra (Germany); Ololiuqui (Germany) - Volker Koenig; Paul Lawler (UK); Dave Brewer (USA); Bill Fox (USA); Wolfram Der Spyra (Germany); and Mario Schonwalder & Thomas Fanger (Germany). Concerts open to the general public in a 550 seat theatre in Jelenia Gora are being planned for Saturday, September 11, 2004, from 8 pm to 11 pm and Sunday, September 12, 2004, from 7 pm to 11 pm.

Okefenokee Dreams
Okefenokee Dreams 2001
Two CDs have preceeded this recording. Okefenokee Dreams (Groove Unlimited Records) documented the first gathering in 2000 when only six people attended the event. Okefenokee Dreams 2001 (Quantum Records and NeuHarmony Records) documented the second gathering in 2001 when attendance of the event jumped to fourteen. Both events took place at Georgia's Stephen C. Foster State Park in the Okefenokee Swamp.

Ricochet Gathering is a unique yearly event held in exotic places for the purpose of having electronic music fans and musicians live their private dream. The event is tied to EM pioneers Tangerine Dream and allows fans and musicians to live in a communal setting for a few days to inspire/create/enjoy electronic music! All music created at these events is live, unrehearsed, and improvised, captured in one take...

Hi...
A friend in the US assures me that he has a triple CD of the 2003 Mojave event. How limited was this release and what tracks were on it ? Is this going to be another EBay item in the months to come.... ?

Regards Phil

There was a 4 CD promo set, which was a approximately 4 hours of unpolished raw recordings from the event. It is intended primarily for those who attended. It is out-of-print.

The release listed above is the finished 2CD which has been worked on in the studio and is intended for the EM audience.

MORGAN! Welcome to electro-music, man! Blancman, Morgan is right. He attended that (and other) Ricochet Gatherings. If you visit the link in the announcement for Ricochet Dream Records, you'll find this entry:
Mojave 2003 DEMO 4-CDR
Quote:
Mojave 2003 DEMO 4-CDR
Numbered LTD 50 Copies (SOLD OUT!)
If I recall, these are "all-faders-at-unity" mixes, roughly edited. No mastering or manufacturing was involved. I believe that Vic burned these personally. And they're gone! I played a track on the 2-Oct-03 EMUSIC and another track on the 4-Oct-03 AM/FM Show. If you'd like, I'll make this 4-CDR set the Special Focus for May on EMUSIC. You can tune in at 12 midnight EDT each week to hear one CD from the set. EDT is currently GMT-4 due to Daylight Savings Time. We're -5 from the UK and -6 from western Europe. Where are you? There are links to EMUSIC and WDIY at my home page listed in my sig below. WDIY simulcasts on the internet so my show may be heard world-wide. But you have to listen while I'm actually doing the program. There is no archiving. And anyone who listens to WDIY and reports from where in the world they've listened, we put a pin in our world map to mark your location.

Cheers,
