[quote="rh2y"]Are there plans to do live streaming audio from the event this year like last year's event? It's starting to look like I won't be able to make it again this year (Rats!) but I did enjoy listening in last year.
Is there a link for this? I hope send it to some people who won't be able to attend.
Thanks!!!

I'm planning on going. After researching flights and rental cars, it looks like it will be much cheaper for me to drive from Louisiana (despite high gas prices). Does anyone else live near me or on my way? If so, we could carpool. I'll be travelling through Jackson, MS; Birmingham, AL; Chatanooga, TN.
I haven't really been active on the forum here, so I don't know anyone. But I'm sure everyone's pretty friendly. |

I'm not as scary as some of the music I play.
You will find the electro-music people to be friendly and fun.
Look forward to meeting you in Kingsport!

It's official now, I just ordered and paid for (ouch) the internet installation at the Renaissance Center.
We are indeed going to stream electro-music 2008 on the electro-music.com internet radio.
I will be my personal responsibility to get the stream up and running on Thursday afternoon. _________________ --Howard

is the streaming going to be recorded for later consumption? I'm asking because I won't be able to listen to it live being away from home during the festival.

Hey gang,
this is my first time and I'm so excited.
I'm wondering though, my payment for the three day passed went through long ago but I haven't received it yet. Is that typical?
I'll be performing in the White Room, does anyone have a guess how long of cables we'll need to reach the mixer or snake?
I've heard so much about this festival, I can't wait! |

Yep, it's definitely something to be excited about

You won't receive anything. Your name and purchase will be on a sheet at the door -- basically will call. But, unlike most will calls, you get to hang out and chat with the nice people handling registration, who are also probably handling some other jobs. Last year I did an airport run, followed by bringing in the beer, taps, etc. I was the volunteer taster until we were convinced that the head was just right.

The room dimensions are: Room 239 - Exhibit/Meeting (23' x 46'). I took 25 foot cables to Cheltenham and had some length left. I'd guess 20 foot would be plenty.

Thank you! Will get 20' cables before I head down.
Of course, more newbie questions:
* - will there be a static mic hung over the stage to feed our banter to the web feed? I don't need a mic for my set but will be making brief comments before each piece to keep folks aware of what I'm playing.
* - for the online feed, is all folks have to do is go to the Radio page here, and it'll just start? or might they need to look for another link?
I have to send out the new times this week and want to make it as easy as possible for friends to find us.
Hope everything is coming together for all the participants.
The excitement of the count down is starting for me already! |

There will be a button on the radio page to start the stream in a player once it's up - that is, it always was that way. Once it's running there will be people in the Chat Room (see link on top/right of each page here) to help sort out problems.
The static mic seems very useful to me, in the past there have been occasions where only part of the mix went to the radio stream or where spoken comments got lost. _________________ Jan

Yep, there is always a mic at each stage for making comments, and it feeds into the stream.

Thanks Guys! |
 |

Thank you all for you good wishes, you can bet I'll be tuned in though maybe not 12 hours a day.
Is the chat room only open when you are streaming? Do you have the schedule firmed up yet? Is it posted somewhere? |

The Gallery looks like a great room, will there be a stereo sound system for demos? I don't rememebr a central sound system in the demo room last year.
Tick tick tick, counting off the days...
