Anyone here tried the Doepfer A-199 Spring Reverb?
I'm curious about how it sounds?
If it's a good spring sound, and if it's noisey or has hum problems in normal useage?
There's unfortunately no demos of it on doepfer's site, i love the sound of the vermona spring gear but if i can get similar cheaper that'll slot into my modular (or perhaps two of them for stereo) i think that's a better option.

I have both Vermona ReTubeVerb and A-199. The ReTubeVerb sounds much more natural and less springy than A-199. However, A-199 integrates to modular and is thus more flexible.
(A third option: Apparently it is possible use an external Accutronics spring tank with A-199)

That's not my clip. It's on the Analog Haven site. It's the tank that comes with the A-199. May or may not be inside the A100 case. I have two tanks in my case and I'm fine with it.

Are there any other Eurorack spring modules available?
There is (was?) one by Analogue Solutions which compares nicely to the Doepfer one. It lacks the feedback insert but every now and the it sounds nicer to me.
lol i ended up getting a lexicon MX300 as it does quite a good emulation and is a bit more versatile and better suited to my whole setup for the time being.
will still no doubt grab a a199 to try out at some point... but my GAS budget is depleted for now!
the a-199 is great, I have two tanks, the doepfer one and an acuutroncs tank, I use both and have made a switch that you can choose between eitherone easily, still have on empty place on the switch to add a third tank.
For those interested in changing the A199's reverb tank here's how it goes (quoting myself from another forum):

I've an Accutronics tank: 9 B B 3 D 1 B which just works great. I've demoed my combo to s.o. who immediatly got himself the same tank for his A199.
To my best knowledge you can pick any Accutronics tank with the following code: X B B Y D 1 Z wheras X, Y, Z can be choosen to your liking. See the Accutronics HP for their code:

Actually, I think it is a better idea to get a real spring reverb than using the Doepfer. Nothing wrong with the electronics, but it is a bad spring.
On the other hand, using it with other spring tanks gives a low output. To my taste, it is too Lo Fi for most purposes.
