G2 Reacting slow...

Hi all!

I've found something weird that is bothering me...
Sometimes my G2 (keyboard) seems to react rather slow.
In some patches when I change from lets say 1A to 2A (parameter buttons) the LCD's are reacting slow (you can see the displays building up from the left to the right which sometimes takes more then 1 second)
Now 1 second isn't that much, but it's anoying when you go fast trough the parameter pages...

anyone else experienced this problem?

(I've included a performance to test this. If i go from A1 to A2 it takes +- 1 second till all displays are displayed...)

I've seen that too. I tis annoying, but not unworkable.

I loaded your performance and I see the same thing. I disabled slots B, C, and D and the LCD screen refreshes were much faster. This implies it's a CPU load issue.

It feels like an CPU load issue... (but there's still plenty of DSP power left in that patch... weird?!) maybe visual stuff starts to react slower when you add lots of midi-controllers and stuff... dunno?

I beleive there are two kinds of processors in the G2. The first are the DSPs which we all know about. The other is a single utility processor - not a DSP I think. This takes care of all of the general purpose synthesizer wide duties, like, I would guess, keyboard detection, MIDI I/O, global variables, controls, communication via USB, and driving the LCDs. My guess is it's the utility processor we're seeing here.
