Having got to know electro-music.com a little bit, it is clear that there are many technically knowledgable members, and there is no shying away from the odd formula and circuit diagram.

Thus I wonder if a forum section for technical discussion might be of interest to the members. A "developers corner", or "tech talk" kind of place. I know that the charter (http://www.electro-music.com/forum/topic-12.html) makes it clear that electro-music.com is primarily a place for artists. However, in the field of electronic music the artistic and technical aspects are often strongly connected and overlapping. I also suspect that a large percentage of the people who create the technology are artists as well as engineers, and also that many artists take an active interest in the technical foundation of their instruments.

How about it mosc? Smile

Well, DJ. I would be interested in it myself, and I'm sure some others would be as well. Would you be willing to be a moderator for this?

What would you think? Perhaps a Developers Corner as a sub-forum to How Tos?

What does a moderator do? I'll post something on the electro-music.com forum. It's a FAQ, or it is becoming one.

Thanks much for the suggestion.

I've never moderated forum before - but sure, I'd be willing to give it a try with your instructions.

A corner in How Tos is probably fine - you would know best...

What do moderators do?

see: http://electro-music.com/forum/topic-3484.html

Thanks for volunteering. I'll see this up as soon as I get a little free time.

That sounds fair and manageable enough - wouldn't be a problem for me.

DrJ - I'd love to contribute lots to this. I've gone through everything from repairs, circuit bending (including the "Speak & Spell"), building portable mics & preamps, and designing my own MIDI hardware. Though I'm very much a digital design rather than an analog one, I'm not scared of the continuous domain:)

Great Forum Idea!

I just got back from a long drive from Boston. Still, I set up the Developers' Corner forum under the How Tos Forum. DrJustice, please post the first topic there and announce what the forum is about and the kind of things you'd like to see there.

Thanks again... thumb up

This was an excellent decision and for me the reason to hang out on this great forum!
