Matthias,
I got my two boards today. As always very well packed .
Would you know whether we can get the ferrite beads from Reichelt? They have some ferrites but I can't identify them. I know that Jürgen Haible uses ferrite beads from RS.
Also, is the Reichelt part no für RN1 and RN2 SIL 9-8 100K?
Thanks. _________________ Red is black and plus is minus. http://www.bild-schall.com |

for the resistor entwork you want an 8 resistor 9 pin network in star configuration:
SIL 9-8 100k
i can't find beads at reichelt either. i use 10R resistors. it is saver anyways. the project has a lots of wiring, and a small mistake can cause a lot of troubles. a 10R resistor would hopefully protect the ICs in the worst case... _________________

thanks for taking care.
i updated the docs and added a page showing first option for wiring the PCB as simple 8-step without ADC. an 2nd option using even less parts will follow... _________________

i worked on the documentation a little bit more. it won't be the final version, though.
IMPORTANT CHANGES:
R6 is now 0k (jumper) instead of 100k.
some might want to power the module with 12V, so i gave a hint how to accomodate the ADC reference voltage (R26 at trimmer T1 shall be 200k then).
i added a 2nd option for wiring the PCB as simple 8-step seq without the ADC. saves even more parts. however, both options are not tested! i built two versions of this seq and i don't think i need another baby8.
and last but not least i explained the buffers/amplifiers that feed the CV potentiometers, and explained how to set them up (gain). you will find the new information on the BOM page.
now i am working on an explanation of the gray code (patterns) and a calibration procedure...
building documentation 10JUN2010.
sorry for the inconvenience, but writing up the docs took more time than i expected, so it is work in progress... _________________

Board arrived here too! Red one and in perfect shape! I like the PCB
Reminds me of the x0xb0x's build...
Thanks Matthias!
And thanks for taking care of the 12Volt guys like me _________________ http://soundcloud.com/mister-vommi

Got the boards! I have to finish some other projects before starting this one. I also still have to decide whether to build it in two euro modules or a double stand alone...

i found the stand alone build to be much easier. it is not that cramped. all the wiring, you know... _________________

Fonik,
I 've noticed that in the BOM, R8 have an asterisk wich concerns about the gain of the CV buffers. But as it's shown on schematics R8 is the timing resistor for the adc clock. Am I skeeping something?
Sorry if that's a silly question...
thanks! _________________ http://soundcloud.com/mister-vommi

not a silly question. silly me. the asterix are leftovers from previous doc revisions. i corrected the file right now...
BTW i hope i will finish the gray code and calibration desciption on monday.
thanks. _________________

Anyone have build it?
I finished my build yesterday but i 'm having problems.
I am feeding it with +/-12V and i changed R36 to 200K. I 've also used 10K resistors on the feedback path of the CV buffers and used a jumper for R6.
I 've clocked it with an lfo's square wave and it's ok. But when i set the switches to the ADC position nothing happens... i 've only got step 8 hi and all others low, and nothing changes if i move the fine and coarse knobs or if i feed a signal to the adc input. The voltage status leds are working.
Gate and trigger out and associated leds are working.
I've connected the cv out to an oscillator and it seems that the cv pots have no effect on the output. The oscillator controlled by the cv out is flopping between two semitones like, say: step1: C, step2: C#, step3: C, step4:C#, etc etc..
I 've checked the +5V and it's where it's supposed to be.
Any hint?
Thanks,
