:shock:yet another module. I think it unlikely that as a machine he could be this fast
more likely he just cloned himself eleventy times and dragged a wholebunch of fresh new minikev's out of storage to build when he wants
very nice module by the way. |

hahaha seriously! Hey Kevin, are you going to the KC Maker's Faire? I'm driving down from Omaha for it. Maybe we can jam or something? _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/borisandfef |

Thanks, guys! I'm working on two more Yusynth modules and will post them when they are finished.
They started a Maker's group in Kansas City about two years ago -- I had heard about it but never got involved in it. The Maker's Faire sounds fun and educational and would like to go to it if possible. _________________ -- Kevin

Thanks! Feels good to get to this point, especially in an acoustically treated room.
It was chaos here for the last 4 months so I'm going to enjoy the non-mess for a moment. _________________ Sneak-Thief - raw electrofunk |

These got pretty expensive. In 2006 I bought 100 for $0.25 each from them, now they're $0.70 in that quantity :S _________________ Sneak-Thief - raw electrofunk |

They are great looking knobs. I have been using them in all my builds from around 2006 as well, although I wasn't smart enough to order 100 at a time as my DIY was a journey made of small steps.... _________________ Erez Yaary

jordroid, that looks clean and awesome!
But I'm even more curious about that little doodad on the right - the thing with the solderless breadboards on it. What is it? |

Ha, it's a breadboard with a bunch of handy stuff built in, a power supply with +5 volts and adjustable + and - rails, a function generator, a couple of pots, switches, logic stuff and a tiny speaker. I find it super handy, especially the power supply and function generator.
I live near cornell university, and this one was found in a dumpster up there with two others just like it, which went to friends. All three work perfectly, although they all have evidence of some serious DIP barbeque action, you can see a few brown spots where the plastic was melted.
I have a few other (less fancy) breadboards from "up the hill" as well. It's a longstanding tradition here to go dumpster diving right as the students are leaving, they tend to throw out some pretty choice items in their rush to leave town, especially the EE's

A new Yusynth Steiner Filter |
 |
|
I probably don't really need another Voltage-Controlled filter however, for reasons that I don't quite understand, I enjoy building filters.
The Steiner filter is not a complicated filter however it works amazingly well.
To have a front-end mixer for the audio adds to the versatility of the filter. I like to have at least three control voltage inputs, too.

The PCB behind the panel. At the top left, you can see the resistors I added for additional audio inputs. Since the input stage is an inverting op-amp, this was an easy mod. |

Wow, that proto-board is awesome. I've been picking up parts to build something similar, but designed specifically for synth/audio development. I can't find anything like those mini-breadboards on each of the modules. What you've got there would be worth $100 just for the PSUs, and it comes with so much more. Nice find!
Access to the Cornell EE dumpster, sounds like the beginning of a cool sci-fi story in there somewhere Lucky dude. |

Looks like it's about a $300 value. _________________ Looking for a certain ratio since 1978 |
