Yes,
sorry for the nonsense post, but I just acquired a Micro Modular....
This will surely cost me sleepless nights!
Expect some patches soon... probably only distorted sounds, but hey

Thanks Mosc, I most certainly will!
Am I right in assuming that the only MIDI I can send from it are Clock and CC's?

The Hague in da House, aaiiight!
Oh well, seeing as I know more Hagenezen online than off, that might not be a bad idea Especially if they want to talk about and listen to synths.

The Hague a modular system? Then I'm still looking for the master out, even a mono would be fine, or some neglected AUX-return
I love the MM already... great stuff, really cool to squeeze as much sound as possible out of the little red machine.
Oh my, I'm getting to be such a Clavia fanboy, haha.

I don't think so.
The Hague has a lot to offer to electronic musicians, for sure. There is a great and active Electro group, Bunker and friends, and the Royal Conservatorium is also world wide well known. There is a lot to experience and hear, every weekend, but is it a system?

Yes,
modular would imply some connections at least
I think I'll be at Zuidwal before stopping by your employer, Wout. I'll try and find a picture of you somewhere...

Aaah,
the usual suspects
Thanks for those mugshots, be sure to be stalked next time 'round!
I happen to be rather sure you work for the Gemeentemuseum, or am I severely deluded?
As soon as I have some free days I'll fill them with doing some anusje-van-alles (sorry for the dutch pun) jobs for your IT-department, working on the webservers, I guess.

It surely looks that I'm in the wrong city.
When I moved to Utrecht (20 jears ago) there still was the Institute of Sonolgy. Two years latar it moved to Dhe Hague. |

I work there only on wednesday (not today, I'll be in the Dutch Music Institute) I guess you will be working on the new educational project, which also implies you are a student of the Haagse Hogeschool?

Nah,
I study AI in Amsterdam (VU), but I do some temp work for the Koninklijke Bibliotheek and Gemeentemuseum, all nerdy stuff, most of it UNIX-related.
I hope to be stopping by the MMC concert tomorrow, as well.

I'll try to be there too.
I'm tall and my wife is small...
Oh, you noticed on the pictures already
How did you ever get that information out of that <tag> site To me it's all a whole lot of nothing...

Aye,
I hear you. Just tried the site, awful... a bit too post-modern for me.
Actually I got the flyer and info through email, but seeing the short notice and the amount of dutchies here on the forum I thought I would be doing both performers and (potential) audience a favor by mentioning it here.
I know Robert Pravda has a history of making beautiful mechanisms/instruments so I'm rather curious as to what we will be hearing tomorrow.
See you tomorrow, then!

MMC in <tag>
It was a Conservatorium gig, which means most of the audience are students and teachers, with exception of Lise and me
Both musicians were from Tjechië (how is that called in English?)
I only saw the second part of the show.
Musical it was a little bit old fashioned, but had its charm. The second song (well, Kraftwerk like shouting in a distorted mic) was nice - began with a sample of a little musical clockwork, followed by a have drum and a very melodic bass. Most other songs were pure techno from the 90-ies: hard!
There was a wonderful build up of the visuals. Special the last two songs with the dancers in uniform projecting their shadows on the screen and the beaming through the smoke at the end. It all reminded me of the famous ballet 'Soldiers Messe', also done by a Tjechian composer.
The visuals were made by the Sound and Image department of the Royal Academy of Arts.
<tag> is a small art house in The Hague, completely white and wonderful to use for this kind of performances.

Aargh,
I know, sorry 'bout that. Relationship troubles (or relief, we don't know yet), I was alone but in a rather foul mood...
So you saw MMC? Robert Pravda is from the former Yugoslavia if I remember correctly.
Was it a party as well? Or just an exhibition? Any custom-built instruments?

Was a good show; two guys with Serbian militairy hats on. Rather martial music.
Gear was laptops The visual show was the main reason people came, I think. No exhibition, only the show.
