PHP file errors - and more |
 |
|
Today, Mar 31, we had a server outage for a couple of hours. Our server provider, Global Servers, did a software upgrade and botched it.
When we came back up we found that for several people there were problems with their browsers. It seems that some of the search pages are misunderstood by the browsers which don't know how to deal with .php files.
I had this problem myself and I've received email for other people. I found that if I shut down the browser completely and restarted, the problem went away. Be sure to close all browser windows. If you have this problem, give this a try. I hope it works for you too.
Sorry for the inconvenience... _________________ --Howard

There are obviously more problems than the php errors. We are getting a funny instability problem where the server is jumping back and forth between the current version of the database and an older version. We had this once before. We'll let you know when this is fixed. Sorry... _________________ --Howard

I just talked to the people who provide hosting services for us and they say the problem has been resolved. If anyone knows of a really good inexpensive hosting company, please let me know via PM. _________________ --Howard

i still can't get into the forums normally. if i try straight from a bookmark or link i get that window about the php application and firefox just gives up. the only way i have gotten in is to go to a page with a log in at the top, log in send you a private message, log out, and BINGO i'm in the forums. i can then log in again as i've done just now and still be in the forums. if i try to go to the forums before i log out of private messaging it's no go. very strange. good luck with this.
btw it shows you posting at 8pm on 4/1 - no way - you're in the far east? _________________ Que la musique sonne - Edgard Varese

Michael,
Times are supposed to be in your own time zone. Please check your profile. It looks to me like you are set to GMt -4 hours, but you should be -9 hours, right? That still doesn't explaing how I could be posting at 8PM but ???? _________________ --Howard

not sure about the time thing - maybe it's related to the other problems - maybe i was hallucinating. i can live with that either way.
the only way i can get in here is to log in, send somebody - myself in this case - a pm and then i'm in. very strange. so how come all these other folks aren't having this problem? _________________ Que la musique sonne - Edgard Varese

That is a very strange problem. I've never seen it before. I'm stumped. _________________ --Howard

I must been one of the first to discover the errors,
about 10 minutes before the errors ive logged onto electro-music
without problems.
at first i thought electro was hacked again,
but when showing the errors to an PHP coder and server administrator
he told me the Apache server was faulty configurated and didnt know how
to handle PHP scripts.
but i didnt know how to contact mosc =(((
ive only got his Private message box at electro-music,
so I was a little frustrated, but its fixed now anyway |
