The new Americans |

I did that one last night. Unwanted hiss and low level, a noisy arpeggiated XT (that synth is ..., a sample from the PBS documentary The New Americans, piano sample from an old movie (one note, don't remember which movie). Mostly it was an exercise at synchronising three different element at 100 bpm: the xt, the piano sequence and a slap delay (clicky sound) on the board.

Quote: | Naima Saadeh is determined to leave the small town in the Israeli-occupied West Bank where she has lived her whole life. Like many young people, she wants to see more of the world. Naima is a progressive young woman with ambitions and El Jib is a provincial Muslim village.

Naima has gotten a job at a day care center that is owned and operated by a Jewish family. "In the beginning, I feel like I don’t want to work at this center," she says. "I don’t feel comfortable. They asked me, 'Where are you from?' I said Palestine, and they don’t understand where is Palestine. When I say Israel, they understand. |

Nicholas, this is pretty interesting. It is certainly lofi and very simple, but it sets a mood and it is quite mysterious. That's not too different from your previous work. I like this kind of thing. Keep them coming... |

This music is unnatural and scary. Is the lo-fi sound accidental? Because it really does work. Strange arrangement. Pianos, funny noises, then suddenly no piano. And then a minute later, hello again piano. Strange.
Can't deny it's spooky and atmospheric though. _________________ This message was brought to you from Beyond The Grave. |
