I decided the circuit had been on my breadboard long enough now, time
to get building. I found a transmitter for a cheap RC car at a thrift store
(the RC car itself was nowhere to be found) which I thought would make a
nice housing for this project. I covered the original holes from the throttle and
steering rods with a piece of PCB and painted it with purple star metallic
paint which together with the shape, shiny metal parts and the blue LED
gives it a nice spacy look. I don't have the right knobs yet, so for now you
have to imagine some shiny metal knobs on the pots and rotary switch. Cool

Looks great Phobos, you should submit it to the 555 contest. They have some cool prizes lined up.

thanks Smile
it's funny you say that, I heard you mention it in your last video (the one in
which you dismantled that carstereo) and wanted to ask you what's it about.
So thanks for the link I'll take a look.

Sounds great and really suits the look of it! Very metallic and spacey all around, nice work.

I admit I am biased--but that is super nice demo of the PurpleStar 555 instrument and the Idiot Wah. I love the rhythm and the amazing sounds. It rocks!!!!

Thanks drOffset and of course Dr Steve Smile
I'm actually quite pleased with it myself too.

I was thinking if I can figure out a good way to convert voltage to
resistance without a DIY vactrol this might make a nice synth module. Cool
