would anyone be kind enough to offer me some help on installing Mr Alias into Logic? I have downloaded it from the website

http://www.thepiz.org/mralias2/pro.php

but have just got a file, with load of other files in which make no sense to me and I am trying to get the sounds to appear as a plug in in logic...

I want to get some good electronic sounds (Crystal Castles ish) to use on my album. I am an electronic ejit and need step by step guidence.

thanks in advance,

In return I can provide... live harp / piano recordings!

Hi and welcome

OK, so on their site they say that in your download kit is a manual - on their site is also the same manual on its own. Page 2-3 in the manual has the install instructions for each type (VST or AU).

You mentioned Logic, so I'm going to assume you are on a Mac. If you downloaded the package, it'll be in your Downloads folder. Your Mac should have unpacked the zip file into a subfolder in the downloads folder.

You would move that subfolder to the Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST if you got the VST version or Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components if you got the AU version.

The next time you start up Logic, it should scan for new AUs and VSTs. The instrument should then show up in your list of instruments.

The user manual with these instructions is located here.

Thanks so much for you response, I tried what you said but it didn't seem to work, I downloaded the VST version, went into audio, plug-in, VST and dragged the files there (the sub folders are 'doc' 'drawable waves' 'skins' 'sounds' 'waveforms' but when I reload logic it isn't registering anything new, and the files are not coming up in the instrument section or as a plug-in - it is probable something I am doing etc.. oh dear! Any suggestions?

Thanks again Smile
