Hello,
First of all, if you are currently using Moog Modular V, I hope it gives you full satisfaction and meets most of your needs.
Arturia is currently studying the opportunity of realizing a rack mount version of the Moog Modular V.
As a musician and regular user of music instruments, whether you own Moog Modular V or not, we wish to have your opinion.
Please take our online survey:

Not being a soft synth user, I don't understand. What's the meaning of this question? |

I will have to check the survey page. But I imagine they are thinking of a hardware host for running the software... perhaps even a nord modular style product. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Yes, it looks like they are considering making a Nord Modular type box.
If thay made a general purpose harware accellerator that would run all pluggins, not just Arturia, then they would sell lots of boxes. Maybe they should work with Symbolic Sound because the Capybara is already the perfect box.
I'm not going to hold my breath. A bunch of us, 4 so far, are shopping and negotiating for Clavia G2s which will hopefully be available very soon. Stores are taking orders now, and cutting prices. |

Thanks for posting this. I missed it when I checked out the site. If this is what they are looking at, then I don't see the point. The new G2 rack mount engine will have more i/o. Also, because there is a G2 keyboard, the usefullness and flexibility of the entire system is much greater.
If they keep the software the same as the Moog Modular V, then that is a big negative. The Nord is much more flxible. No comparison.

If Robert Moog is involved in this it might turne out OK. I find this idea pretty OK, but I wold have preferred to choose my own modules. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

Just in:
Dear friends and customers,
You have recently taken a survey Arturia was conducting on the idea of releasing a rack version of the Moog Modular V.
As a matter of fact the idea of hosting virtual instruments on hardware units has been in the air for some time now. Companies like Muse-Research, Sound-Art, Creamware or even Roland are offering hardware solutions hosting multiple plug-ins. Even before they do so, synthesizers manufacturers like Clavia or Access were showing the way of convergence between hardware and software.
So we wanted to know how to position ourselves in this context.
The results from the study are accessible at this address: http://www.arturia.com/en/rackmmv_survey.html
As you will see, more than 600 people have participated. A lot of them have sent extremely interesting comments. Unfortunately, we cannot answer individually to the 300+ who have taken the time to analyse the situation and have given us some advice. But I can say that we have been very impressed with what they said.
I don‚t know if there is another industry where customers have such an in-depth analysis of the market, trends, technical risks, economical issues at stake. Maybe musicians, as they have a strong and creative relationship with the material they use are more keen on taking part in their evolution?
In any case, thank you very much for your time and good will. Reading all your comments and the results from the survey I was thinking that companies‚ perimeters were not limited to their staff any more. To some extend they now include customers and partners when they are, as it is the case here, a real asset.
Best wishes for the Holiday Season.
