Hi Everyone,

Looking for some ideas for a driver problem with a G2 (engine)

I installed a new motherboard in an XP machine- I've got everything else up and running except for the G2. When I install hardware the PC hangs when installing the driver to the system32/drivers folder.

I then tried installing the newer version with its USB driver and same thing. Stuck PC. I've now tried every variation of install/uninstall/reinstall I can think of between the two versions. Any ideas?

Thanks!
Paul

if nothing else works on your machine, try a USB hub.

Are you using v1.4?

Hey dasz! Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try that. I was using 1.4- couldn't get it to work and hopefully tried the new 1.62 which didn't work either.

Thanks,
Paul

hmm its just strange everything works except for the g2. its sad if you need to reinstall windows again and it doesnt work either.

Maybe you could mail nord and ask them if this could be a hardware related issue.

Or try find other (newer) drivers for the mainboard.
Maybe its an USB driver/cable issue.
Hope someone has any better suggestions for you.

Thanks for the thoughts Chrono. I haven't looked at it for a couple days- scared of wasting another couple hours without getting it going I guess. But I'm completely hosed without the G2- it's at the center of everything here. Going to try a few more things here in the next couple days- then maybe try to contact Clavia.

Thanks.

hmmm...actually no. I guess I'm assuming that it's a software issue to do with drivers and my computer. I would assume it would work and install on another computer- but I should try that to rule out (gulp...) a hardware issue or a G2-specific problem.

Paul
