I am so excited about this concert. The soprano has beautiful diction as well as a lovely voice. The Belgian string quartet is exquisite. Joseph Kubera premeired the piano concerto in 1997 and this is Kyle Gann's favorite piece of mine. All the musicians are wonderful. The words to The Angel are from a Hans Christian Andersen story, with the story within the story set to lyrics by Anthony Calabrese used by permission of Gail Calabrese. The repertoire on this concert (except for Flute Swale) will be out on a New World CD in 2004.
You are heartily encouraged to attend.
