G2 expansion boards still available here |
 |
|
i got one last week from here:
xxx (link removed, all expansions sold, sorry)
the price (+/- $280.-) seems alright as well.
they may not have them in stock, but they order and receive the expansions from the distributor within 2 or 3 days. at least last week it was so...
you may want to call and ask however - before you order. Last edited by Fidgit on Fri Dec 12, 2008 1:24 am; edited 1 time in total |

As of today the Swiss distributor still has some. I've been looking quite a bit, this is great information! Thanks! _________________ Fish don't swim. They dive. |

The UK distributer told me today:
"Hi Chris
This product is on our stock list – but unfortunately no stock! Delivery lead time would be 4-6 weeks. You could try Hand in Hand – the former distributors of Nord locally. Alternatively a European-based distributor.
"
Already tried hand-in-hand, but if they're on the level (which is dubious), then there's some potential! _________________ OVNI Soundcloud Purusha Soundcloud |

Thanks for posting this. I have doubted for years whether or not to get the expansion, but the good price here & the fact that this could be my last chance made me bite the bullet. Finally I will be able to listen to all the expanded-only prf's _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

Sure, but - don't tell anyone - I also want it for polyphony in good old-fashioned keyboard playing _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

My timeline for making a patch that actually uses the expansion is 5-10 years

They've been getting calls everyday now and are definitely sold out. As of now they have three in stock and three orders. I promised them to post that here. _________________ Fish don't swim. They dive. |

I saw this topic and freaked out. I got the Novamusik G2 bundle like 4 months ago, but they were out of the exp. and could never give me a date to get it in stock. I quickly looked up their phone number, but paused to check my email... lo! and behold, a tracking # from NM dated yesterday!
Sweet wash of relief. My G2 will finally be un-gimped! _________________ live from the black iron prison |

You are lucky, because it appears that both the G2 and the expansion board have vanished outright from their website. |

Wow, the G2 itself as well? What a shame. The G2 is by leaps and bounds the best musical instrument I've ever used. Sad times _________________ live from the black iron prison |

For what it's worth, audiosyncrazy.com claims to have sold an expansion board on eBay on December 11 for USD 350. They're located in Florida and accept credit cards. They list G2 expansion cards for sale on their website, though that does not mean that they have any more in stock.
They also list the G2 Engine, but not the Keyboard.
Nord USA lists them as an authorized dealer. Aside from that, I have no information about them. |

More fuel for speculation Subject description: Nord just announced a major software upgrade |
 |
|
If you look at the Nord website, you will see that they just announced version 4 of the Nord Stage operating system. This is interesting because for the first time, the same samples can be used on the Stage and the new Electro 3. So they're getting serious about having a sample library.
Wouldn't it be interesting if they were to come out with a new synth that would use the same samples and have a G2-type modular section instead of the Wave's subtractive virtual-analog section? |

It looks strange, but the Nord Modular isn't the most popular synth to sell, so some people in the trade don't know what an expansion board is
