That is truly an elegant set up, temas. I can only imagine how nice the the red synths sound through the Chandler germanium box. I wonder what the big-knobbed thing is above it?

Here's my setup. The G2 sits on a desk in front of a 27-inch LCD panel. Above the panel on the bookshelf behind it are two Genelec 6010A monitor speakers.

Most of my setup. It's tucked into a corner of a larger study. Because it's next to a north-facing exterior glass door, it gets nice natural light during the day.

Thanks - it doesn't always look as tidy as that!

The big knobs above is a Shadow Hills GAMA 8 (8-channel pre-amp) and yes the Nords sound really nice and thick when tracked through it and the Chandler Tone Control and then into the Lavry AD converters. Sometimes I go one step further and track the Nords through pedals > amp > speaker cab > mic, but software amps are also pretty good these days.

[Edit: Sorry, I felt I was being a bit self indulgent so I removed the additional photos]

My current rig: EVOs, G2, EMX-1
Just brought my Q-80 back outta the closet. I feed it Numerology seqs to drive things. Tweak and play on top of that...

welcome reSEQUENCer! (maybe someone has already said this)

That looks like a nice setup - a place to get creative in. Smile

Thanks, Dasz!

unfortunately that was probably the band's final show: my singer bowed out for a couple months off and I don't think he's coming back. So I follow my Tae Kwan Do master's advice: fall down seven times, get up eight.

Oh, that is the controller for Native Instrument's Maschine. Next to the G2, it is the single most creative tool I own. Changed my life. Seriously.

Would have to agree. This is the most fun I've had with a piece of gear in a long time.

Nice tidy setup. Can I ask, what do you do with the apc40and the launchpad? They seem to be set on the same grid? Do you ever use it for other functions like sequencing, etc? I ask because I'm fighting the urge to get one as well. Its so cheap, and I'd like to try and use it as a monome on the cheap...

Well, I had just finished wiring it all up after moving in, so I didn't set anything up, just turned it all on for the pic. Usually I use the apc40 for triggering non drum loops, and I have the launchpad set up in a special way to trigger various drum parameters (patterns, sounds, variations, fx, and rolls/stutters).

I am still a mouse user, as that's how I began, and I can work very fast and accurately that way, but when I want to experiment with structure etc, I'll switch over to the controllers and jam out different takes. So they aren't super crucial in my writing process... Just a nice change of approach at times. But for live use, everything gets mapped out to be triggered in real time. So that is setup more as sections (scenes) and variations on the sections. Again, I'll use the lp solely for drums.... So I never have to scroll to the drums... They are just there ready to be pushed!
