Hi everybody,
Does anybody know if it is possible to control the tempo and the Start/Stop button of the Master Clock Module, from a midi control module? (not from an external device connected to midi in port)
CC80 doesn't seem to control the tempo, and I couldn't manage to sent CC80 information from a module to the Global Midi Channel.
I wish I could improve that patch to control the Master Clock:

Thank for your help

Why use the Master Clock at all? Maybe you could use a pulse LFO or something?

Hi xav,

I have a small self-built MIDI router connected to the in/out. What I do is sending CC80 out to MIDI channel 1 (which is my global channel) and configured the router to send it back to the G2. So it is possible to start and stop the master clock using a MIDI ctrl send module.

If your G2 is not connected to another device you could try to plug in a MIDI cable from out to in and disable all local midi sends (otherwise you will play each note twice because the keyboard sends MIDI to itself).

best,
seb

Thank you Seb and Fac.
I didn't dare plug a midi cable because of bad experiences somebody reported in this forum (frozen G2).
Why use a Master Clock Module? Because it is so useful to sync everything in 4 slots without complex repatching and using the buses.
If a midi connection is required, I will look for an Iphone soft that sends midi clock and has a tap tempo functionality... Does anyone know something like that?

Funbox 2 can do it > http://syntheticbits.com/funkbox.html

read manual for instructions >
http://syntheticbits.com/FunkboxManual/FunkboxManual-8.html

maybe some other apps can do that too, I'm gonna try with my midi mobilizer and see if it's tight enough for the G2 ( G2 LOVES TIGHT MIDI CLOCK!.. )

Thanks Gomidas,
The Funkbox seems nice. I gonna buy a MIDI MOBILIZER... I wanted to do everything with the G2... but an external master clock is so useful...

Here's a MIDI-clock-generating footswitch pedal:

Hi,

Although G2 receives the tempo change messages from my midi keyboard, CC80 doesn't seem to control the Run/Stop button and I couldn't manage to sent CC 80 information from a module to the Global Midi Channel either.

Edit: I solved it. The buttons didn't respond to CC 80 command, but rotary responded well! Now I definitely don't need G2 keyboard anymore Very Happy
