I've never really been very much into modular synths, to be honest.

Then I joined this forum.

That's 3 of each then... Laughing

Thanks & Gruss

Hi Fonik

If you have any spare I'd like one of each too. Sorry to be a pest and ask after the deadline - somehow missed this thread altogether.

Cheers

The only 4046 chips I can find are the Texas instrument CD4046BE, and the HCF4046, both of which are said not to make the grade.

The ones listed as 'good' are nowhere to be seen, where is everyone getting theirs?

It also appears tempcos are impossible to source. This is the main reason I have no oscillators in my modular yet.

Don't know if these are any good - but might be worth a try

http://www.bitsbox.co.uk/4000ser.html says it's philips

or

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/4046B-HEF4046BP-X2-Cmos-Phase-locked-loop-/250454858981?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item3a5045dce5 also says Philips

I'll bung in an order to Bitsbox soon and see what they come up with Smile

I bought one from Rapid recently which is a Texas Instruments one so probably no good.

I shall be buying cheap ones until I find one which works!

Good luck

Ian

the tempcos are listed to be available from MFOS and magic smoke. however, i got mine from a groupbuy at a forum years ago.

i used the NXP HEF4046, which is available from mouser:
mouser part# 771-HEF4046BPN
i got it from farnell or rs-components, though (can't remember).

Hi Everybody,

We, The Sonic Workshop, are planning on offering a parts kit for Fonik's Thomas Henry 4046 VCO. We should have more information in the next day or two.

The plan right now is to offer kits for both the VCO Core and for the Waveshaper. If there is enough interest we may also offer panel parts, headers and power cables.

Please feel free to PM or email with any suggestions.

Thanks,
-TF

PCBs are in! so await emails or PMs in the next days, containing all information about your order and payment.

however, i am not amazon.com: it may take some time to inform you. and even when you have paid, it may take a couple of days until your PCBs make it to the post office...

Nice one Fonik. If you could just see my pcb backlog (and my pile of CMOS chips waiting to be played with) you would understand why I will be perfectly happy as long as it arrives by Christmas Smile

All the best
