Kinda ODD ambient electronica stuff: "Melonious Thonk&q |
 |
|
Hi all!
A remarkable new ambient electronica ep has been released on the Cologne netlabel iD.EOLOGY that's really worth checking out:
"oDDjob - melonious thonk"
download it at:
www.ideology.de/archives/000051.php
It's kinda refreshing stuff with loads of good humour. The music doesn't restrict itself to a certain style but is basically very, very free. It's not clicks-stuff and it's not afraid of emotional content. Still it's NOT new age or kitsch. I haven't really heard anything like it, hard to classify.
AND, don't miss that *hidden track*, I couldn't help laughing my ass off after being completely puzzled when it first started. Just move your mouse over those mp3 / ogg DL-Links and then move *down* ...
Anywaze, nice artwork and a good read go with the music if you visit the site. Netlabels rule! |

Thanks for letting us know about this. I listened to the tracks. You are right, these are interesting sytlistically. Good stuff.
I'm glad to see the ogg tracks. These sound considerably better than the mp3 files.
Also, welcome Floyyd.

Yeah, I am, actually. The label was founded by some pals of mine and I help them out with English translations of their German texts once in a while. Apart from that, I just really like their style and the music they present on their site. There are not so many netlabels that represent such a variety of music. Take Thinner, for example. They're good, no doubt, but somehow a lot of their artists sound kindalike the same.
Have you found that hidden track I mentioned? These guys must be a tad mad ...
Btw, I've been on Electro-Music.com before and I've posted links into this forum before. Used to be floyydd but I moved to another city, couldn't keep my email-account because of that AND forgot my password So I had to create a new login ... |
