I doubt we'll know anything until NAMM officially opens (10 AM PST). We might not know anything until shortly before it closes.

Yeah, it's not a G3.

However, I think it may be worth a closer look anyway, because it has some rather interesting properties.

Basically, it's an updated Stage with the Electro piano models, the Wave ability to use samples as oscillators, and the C2 organ modeling built in. It also has half a gigabyte of piano sample memory and 380MB of other sample memory.

In some ways it is the ideal complement for a G2.

This cements in my mind the fact that Nord will not produce anther modular, they've moved on.

I remember those comments, unless you have something new to add? He said that within a year there would be a surprise. Well, Nord will not announce a new modular at MusikMesse, this is it for the year I think. And I think this speculation can end now..

I get Laughing reading this thread.

Somebody other than Wout posted several pages back that there is another Clavia product besides the Stage that will be announced Thursday.

Development projects being what they are, it's always possible that Nord intended to announce two new products at NAMM and didn't get them both ready to demonstrate in time.

Yes, will look again in April at MusikMesse.

In the meantime, Namm has been great this year!

Yes! some nice examples of Xite-1 for once!

How many patches can you run at one time on the Xite-1? On the G2, there is a limit of 4 in a performance..

Well, these examples actually run on the older PCI card. I have no Xite-1 (yet). You can load as much patches as you want as long as there is enough DSP power. In the last movie about 70% of the DSP power is used. On an Xite-1 that would probably be 7%.

Still hoping for a G3 though.

No limit on patches. The system has a bunch of synths, mixers, effects, EQs, etc. The modular is treated like any other of these, they can be wired up in your a virtual studio (a 'project') with as many or each as the DSPs allow. The only limit is 8 inputs and 8 outputs on 1 modular. However, there are ways to use any of the 'standard' synths or effects as a module, so using I/O for inserts isn't totally necessary. Each modular patch can then have as many voices as your system allows.

Who has been in contact with Stockholm recently?
Could there be a radio silence...?

That's how it mostly starts.
