Oh I'm sorry. I'm pulling punches, because my university has been mistreating me. I've done this course and I'm utterly pissed off with it now- but it seems that they are holding a gun to my head over a module they fucked up for me last year, and so are denying me a degree (for now).......
All I want to do is get away from them, but I can't. Not for now at least. (I always said the internet is great for hiding the bigger picture).
Sorry for the OT. _________________ ACHTUNG!

Well, if you're tone deaf now you probably had that for much longer, it didn't stop you then, don't let it stop you now _________________ Jan

I do love a bit of Sufjan. I think my fave tracks are 'Naysayers' and 'Chicago.'
The latter nearly always makes me blub if I'm in rather a blue funk. Which is quite often these days... _________________ My music: here! |

What did you expect? With Universities the same organisation that you pay to teach you is the one that judges whether you are done learning and can get a degree. They have a financial interest in mucking stuff like that up so they'd be stupid not to.
BTW, it looked like spam to me as well, I immediately looked up the poster's history. This is what viral marketing is doing to our site. _________________ Kassen |

Oh, come on guys. All the kids know Sufjan Stevens He's an Indie superstar. He doesn't need spammers to randomly drop his name on forums to get recognition, especially regarding older and more experimental albums in his back catalog.
And yes, enjoy your rabbit is very good, but what amazes me most about it is how it is an electronic album, yet the title track reminds me more of brutal prog(no, I didn't just make that up). A few years back I was going through a phase where I would listen to nothing but brutal prog and shun all else. One day I threw on enjoy your rabbit just for old times sake and that track stood out like a sore thumb. It made me realize that Sufjan has a little something for everyone _________________ " I went through quite a few trannies til I found one I liked" - Wild Zebra |

I think it's an awesome album. It would be cool if someone made a horror movie about some robot or something, who went insane and started rampaging through a city killing people, with the music as the soundtrack...
It would be epic! lol
But seriously if you've not heard it, you should check it out! _________________ http://www.myspace.com/nathanstirlingmusic |

Well this is exactly what I've been suspecting. One year ago, they awarded me with a compassionate mark on half a module, as long as I resubmitted the other half. Now they are denying it, and because this was told to me, and not confirmed in writing they have an even bigger excuse.
Unfortunately for them, they've picked the module with the lecturer who never posts coursework on the internet (it is in the university policy that lecturers must do this), so I actually have a lot of clout in my favour.
It's a long story, and the university have messed up on a lot of other items along the way too. So I fully intend to 'throw the book (back) at them' so to speak. _________________ ACHTUNG!

Apparently Daft Punk does, I suspect Access was spamming about some new Virus model a while back as well. Though I don't think they tried it here yet even Sony has a well known rep for viral marketing. You might be surprised.
Anyway, I listened to so random online pieces by this guy and can't really get into it... but it's still sad that the amount of spam that looks exactly like this that we get is resulting in this distrust. _________________ Kassen |

Sometimes it´s hard to make sense of what is spam or not. The main problem is of course that we have already documented in depth that pretty much all "major" brit artists including the biggie indies and the alt rock heroes have invested serious money into viral campaigns. Well, truth is that it would be their management/label signing the deals.. but seen as an industry phenomenon pretty much all of them have earned a place in the hall of shame.
And yes, that does include Daft Punk too.
It seems btw that there is a new Timbaland branding campaign soon to be unleashed on us.
So, it is way too easy to guesstimate that any account with "not that many posts" going "I love the artist called XXXXXXX" is yet another viral marketeer. That seems to be the case in something like 9,5 out of 10. _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"
