Nord Wave Sample memory size?? Subject description: My sample memory is 64mb and there is a 180mb version now! |

My sample memory is 64mb and there is a 180mb version now! That has been one of the down sides of the nord wave since I have owned it, the fact that I can only load so many audio samples into it, most of which is taken up by the factory samples(which I really do like). I don't want to take off the factory samples because I like them and many of the programs your download off the clavia website use the factory samples. I recently got rid of my Roland JX-3p and I felt bad about it until I saw that Clavia has downloadable samples for the JX-3p!!!!!! It would be awesome to load them up and keep my current samples on there. Constantly swapping samples is not fun I just want to play.
I was just wondering if I could get my 64mb upgraded to 180mb or greater. If so how do I go about doing so? Can I send her in for an upgrade or is it a tightly sealed situation in which I am stuck with 64mb? I really would prefer keeping my current Nord, .
ANY help would be greatly appreciated. |

This is the first claim I've seen that there is more than one version of the Wave hardware. Are you sure you're correct about the memory capacity? |

I bought the Wave shortly after it first came out. It only came will one bank of programs and the rest of the banks were empty. I am sure about the flash memory, I would check it again but I left it at my friends house. I will check it again and post back. But I am 95% sure I only have 64mb of flash memory. Whenever I add a couple of new samples it fills up. And on the Wave editor it says how much memory is used and available ect. I should of waited probably but when I tested it out and I fell in love, and it has served me well through multiple shows and recording sessions since I bought it. It is in great condition.
That 180 would more than double what I am used to it would be so useful to me. I wonder if there is anything I can do but I can't find anything online. Mine has to be one of the first shipments or something or MAYBE I have been wrong this whole time and don't know how to access the rest of my memory. Is it partitioned or is there an option in the editor? |

I think there are two separate issues: How many different patches you can store, and how much sample memory you have. When I was thinking about buying a Wave, one of the reasons I decided not to do so was that the factory samples took up so much of the available memory, and that you couldn't delete any of the samples without unknown effects on the factory patches.
By way of refreshing my own memory, I went to the Nord site to check what they say about the Wave factory patches. I see on this download page that the factory patch set takes up 151 megabytes, which roughly matches my recollection.
So unless they've added a lot of factory samples, I stand by my recollection that all Waves have 180 meg of sample memory. |

I will do a screenshot as soon as I can. And send you back what I have. But I am starting to think you are right.
But what I know for sure is that my nord wave only came with one full bank of programs, and about 25 in the second bank. The waves now come with 8 full banks. So I did get a a different version. As for the hardware memory being different, you are starting to make me take back what I said but I will screenshot the nord wave manager and post it if I find out that my memory is different.
Say I do have 180mb, what if I want more than that? Is it not expandable? |

No it isn't, as least as far as I know. |
