Here is where you can get ALL the latest build documentation for your Appendage Ribbon Controller. It includes the latest build document and BOM. It is also a place where I will be posting any changes or modifications to the build documents. the latest of any drawings will, from now on, be kept here.

NOTE: THERE IS CHANGE TO ALL PCB REVISION "H" OWNERS THAT ADDS 4 PROTECTION DIODES. IF ANYONE HAS BEEN EXPERIENCING ANY U21, CD4053, FAILURES, THIS WILL FIX THAT PROBLEM. THIS MODIFICATION IS EXPLAINED BELOW IN THE NEXT POST

THE LATEST ROUND OF APPENDAGE PC BOARDS ON ORDER, REVISION "J" WILL ALREADY HAVE THESE DIODES INCORPORATED. THESE REV "J" BOARDS ARE SHIPPING TO ALL NEW CUSTOMERS. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE CURRENT BUILD DOCUMENT FOR REV H PCB'S CAN BE USED BUT THE NEW REV J BOM ADDS 4 BAT85 DIODES. SEE BELOW FOR DETAILS OF PLACEMENT

NOTE TO ALL PRESENT OWNERS OF APPENDAGE RIBBON CONTROLLERS WITH A REV H PC BOARD.

It has been brought to my attention and confirmed by Scott Stites that a potential condition exists that could cause failure of U21, CD4053 Analog Switch. Some dual power supplies where the -15V may come up some time before the +15 will cause a harmful negative voltage to appear at U21 analog inputs. To prevent this, four protection diodes can been added. The schematic attached shows the connections.

The diodes can be easily added to the solder side of the PC board under U19 and U20 operational amplifiers.

All new REV J PCB's will already have this change.
