They can be consumed and are psycho-active though also somewhat poisenous if not prepared correctly.
some more info: https://williamrubel.com/2011/10/05/how-much-amanita-muscaria-to-eat/

fun fact: reindeer like them and their urine apparently becomes psycho-active after eating them.
There's a whole theory about santa and flying reindeer tied to these mushrooms.

That explains why bottled reindeer urine is so expensive. Rolling Eyes

Pohutukawa is a native New Zealand tree, usually pretty boring with green leaves, brown bark, the usual.

But, every December, they come out in bloom. For good reason, the Pohutukawa is also known as the New Zealand Christmas Tree, and there is even a local carol about it Smile

It's a good idea to let a cat check out your engine from time to time. My car once was performing poorly. I took it to the mechanic and the problem was that mice had nested in the air filter.

The "blend door" on my Ranger pickup has failed, not allowing me to adjust the temperature setting. Probably due to varmint intrusion LOL!

We get them in Pennsylvania in the very early spring. I never cut them; seems like murder...
