Does anyone know if there is any way to convert a bpm-signal from a midi source (MC-505) to an analog clock, to sync with my analog gear?... Confused Any DIY-project?

If you have a spare audio output on some peice of gear that has MIDI input, you might be able to just trigger a "note on", and use that to sync your analog gear. It would depend on the type of input the analog gear has, and what type of threshold is considered "on" vs. "off" that are supposed to be 5v will trigger ON if they receive a +1V signal (many digital inputs (74XXXX or most 0-5v type signals see ~.8v as on) . Since you would be sending pulses, you wouldn't need to worry about the AC coupling that most audio outputs have.

Worth a try at least!

i've never actually bought one of these, but there are tons of uses for it (including yours):
http://www.blacet.com/misc.html

a preprogramed pic that converts midi clock to trigger....might want a clock divider as well.

THis one is OK.

Pitch and Gate control of 4 synth voices. Either Multi (assignment of data from four midi channels) or Mono (rotational assignment of data from one midi channel) operation.
Pitch, Velocity and Gate control of 2 voices plus Pitch and Mod wheel CVs. Either Multi or Mono assignment can be selected.
Pitch, Velocity, Pitch Wheel, Mod Wheel, Release Velocity, Channel Pressure, Gate and Re-trigger. Complete, true staccato control of one synth voice.
8 CVs from Continuous Controller messages. Controllers can be on one midi channel or separate channels.
Analog Drum Trigger Mode. 8 pulses by note# with pulse amplitude set by note velocity.
DIN Sync - 24ppq, Start, Stop and Continue PLUS simultaneous control of a single Pitch, Velocity, Gate, Wheel, Re-trigger synth voice or two multi-assigned voices with Pitch, Velcocity, and Gate.
Self-Test. Separate checks of midi input and analog outputs verify operation and aid in set-up and trouble-shooting.

Actually, I have it. It works fine. I can recommend it. They even updated the firmware.

Specifically, what analog gear are you trying to control with clock pulses? How much of a divide is needed from midi clock (always 24pulses per beat) to the analog trigger?

I still think a simple audio output connected to your gate input (or other) is all that might be needed. This could come from your laptop, or an extra output on the MC-505 (more or less, you just need to sequence a metronome as this audio control signal). Worst case, a 5V buffer like a very cheap 74LS04 could be used to drive the signal to 5V. It would take less than an hour to build something like this very nicely. 10 minutes as a quick hack.

AND you could go wild with using outrageous trigger signals, sounds like fun !

I want it to sync with other analog sequencers... Confused

Hey Pehr,
Keep your eye out for an old Roland TR707 drum machine.
I used to have one and it does the job perfectly. It has 2 separate clk outs which can be programmed into any pattern as rim shot(?) events.
So not only can you divide the clocks, you can program a clock "seive". It's got Midi In/Out/Thru and you get a load of cheesy 80s drum sounds thrown in for free Rolling Eyes
Seriously though, if I see one cheap I'm getting it.
Also, as it has a separate output for every drum, JKs idea about the 5V buffers could turn it into a 12 Channel programmable Midi to Clk box!
Ghees,.. The Uncle's getting excited now!! Very Happy

...i have a 707 that most often gets used just as you are are describing (the trainspotters get sweaty and nervous if they see a 909 being used for such things). pehr is (i think) looking for something specifically to run the sl in sync with midi clock...and for this, the blacet chip is ideal...a 707 is a whole other piece of gear.

But I want diy... Confused What I really want to do is havingtwo analog sequencers synced with drums somehow... Maybe a couple of DS-7 with some sort of multi channel trigger sequencer... I dunno Rolling Eyes

Have you checked out this idea based on the Blacet PIC?
