Right! And it will sell for 1200 US $ (+/-); a bit expensive IMO.
More to come at the winter NAMM fair.

Would anyone spend more than twice as much ( as you would pay for the regular mono evolver ) for a few extra knobs and a keyboard? More knobs to tweak is nice but I would probably spend it on another synth instead.

Are there any other features that it has that the regular mono evolver doesnt have? Maybe we have to wait for NAMM to find out?

Dunno.. the MEK seems nice. There are very few real instruments like the nice old Octave Cat2 or the Odyssey still around. Even though the Ion and the Micron are nice sounding the controls are a complete disaster for basic live playing. Something like.. say .. even the Jupiter 6 would be nice. The big Evolvers seems to be just what the doctor ordered.

Are there any real closeups of the controls? I would like to see what they have put where.

What's wrong with the Ion's controls for live playing?

and the Jupiter 6 looks like this:

The ION has presets and stuff of course.. but cannot see how it is possible to play that one like say an Odyssey or even a Jupiter 6 or a big anal(og) Oberheim or .. well. . you know.. and I have tried. The Ion plays well and sounds awesome but it cannot in any way be played like.. you know.. For that I think the new Creamware Minimax box is far better. I like that one. And I like the Andromeda.

Can't say that I've played the Jupiter or Cat, but I think the Ion is ok for live playing. Granted, it is not even close in the ease of my Voyager for live performance tweaking. One of the features I love about the Ion is the two Mod wheels. I will assign what I would most likely modulate to Mod Wheel and One and Two.

I am not saying the Ion is bad. It surely isn´t.
Main point is that you use it for what it does the best. You do other stuff with your Voyager.
