INSULTINGLY STUPID MOVIE PHYSICS |

Excellent site!
http://www.intuitor.com/moviephysics/
Quote: | Since its start-up in 1997, "Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics" has received hundreds of thousands of visitors including NASA scientists, high school and university physics teachers and at least one published science fiction writer. We have received many helpful suggestions and constantly consider them as we improve our site.
"Insultingly Stupid Movie Physics" has been reviewed or listed in Physics Today Magazine, The News Letter of the American Physical Society, The New York Times, and The Hollywood Reporter, as well as numerous other publications. It has been listed on Fark and Slashdot and been featured on the Osgood Files and NPR as well as many other radio stations.
The vast majority of comments we receive are positive. However, for the others we offer the following: Yes, we do have lives and also do enjoy movies. No, we are definitely not "normal" but then we have never met a "normal" person, although we're sure there is one somewhere in the world. |

My God that is delicious! I love picking apart the technical demerits of films, especially those that dont even try to be valid. Can you say Armageddon? I know you can *IF* you apply yourself. Thank you.

Thanks for posting this one. Now that I know it is there, I can keep quiet when watching movies. It's nice to see someone is even more nerdy than me when it comes to these things.
Now where is the site for Insultingly Stupid Movie Sex. |

Dont worry, I am a stickler for technical accuracies in cinema, too, especially when it comes to what I call "causality puzzles," such as time-travel movies, Momento, etc. I relish in dismantling and disposing of the realities presented us both in film and real life. Doing so with the former is like flight training for the latter.
However, when I come across a film that gets most of its details straight and is pretty good with such, I am am an additional degree more admirant about it. "They got it right. Cool..."

Movie sex is superior in most respects to porn. Easily. Of course, realism is a back seat issue in both instances.
