Is it possible to chain the sequencers in the P.E.K? |

Hi!
I have ordered a P.E.K from my local dealer in Sweden. I haven’t received it yet but I just can’t wait!! I have a question for all you out there owning a P.E.K…
The Poly Evolver Keyboard has 4 sequencers. Is it possible to chain the 4 sequencers so thay play 4x16 patterns? If it is possible you can almost compose a short song using only the internal sequencer. _________________ Gearlist: Alesis Andromeda, Emu E4XT Ultra, Korg MS20, Moog Minimoog Model D (incl. Demokid.
I don't have a P.E.K. so I can't answer your question. Just wanted to say welcome aboard. _________________ --Howard

Hi,
I only have the mono one which has 4 sequencers which you cannot chain.
I am pretty sure that the PEK is just 4 monos so its probably the same.
You can download the manual from the dsi website, that will tell you.
Your a lucky man the PEK looks very nice, I'm waiting for one with more than 6 voices to be released before I sell the wife to buy one.
Cheers

I tried the desktop Evolver some time ago. IIRC a new feature in a recent OS (back then) allowed you to chain sequences by switching to another patch. You tell the Evolver you want to switch to patch B while the sequencer in patch A is playing (there's a special key combo for this iirc). The switch will be stalled until the sequencer has reached the last step of the sequence in patch A.
So to make song parts, start with a patch and build a sequence on it. When (close to) finished, copy it to another patch and tweak it. Repeat until all song parts are done. Now chain these patches as described above.
Now I do remember some timing issues with this, but I can't remember what the conditions are. The jump to the new patch wasn't always 'tight', which sucks. But maybe that has been fixed. I think I also remember that there was no way to do the patch chaining by issueing PC midi commmands from an external sequencer. At that time, you could only chain patches manually. _________________ klontart sound and vision blog: http://www.klontart.com |
