| I like this. Very beautiful.
Reminds me of the movie 2001 for some reason. I think Hal did some singing of this sond. I also have a shower curtain with the score printed on it.

BTW, the robot sings "You'll look sweet upon the seat of a bicycle MADE for two." It should be BUILT.

| Very nice Carlo !
I've used both text to speech and transpose / stretch tools, but never thought of combining those.

Its a bit like hearing Howard sing through his G2

Thanks Jan, it was really a surprise to be able to stratch/retune a sentence to become a melody. it's not a new trick but I had never tried it before.

| Awesome.
I am always looking for more interesting ways to develop robot vocals. I started out with Melody Assistant program with that vocal plug-inVirtual Singer, but besides it being a little too incoherent (the consonants could be better), it was too tedious to create the vocals on the demo version, export to WAV, open it up in FL, etc. I tried sampling it and creating a soundfont, but that destroyed the fluid transitions from consonant to vowel. Next, I tried combining the better-defined consonants from TTS programs with the vowels from Virtual Singer. I then tried doing the same with my own vocals, focusing on syllables rather than individual vowels and consonants, but I can't sing.

I'm going to go back and try again and tune them with something like Antares auto-tune. In the end, I'd like it to be a soundfont or VSTi, but there are just so many samples to deal with. Perhaps it would be better if I just created instructions for the right combinations.

I don't plan on making it sound realistic; I just think that I can work hard to get the most coherent vocals out of it all.

| Albeit not totally realistic, it sounds surprisingly human to me. It's not cold at all, but can be quite touching.

 Good stuff.

if it was totally realistic it would not sound "robotic" and so it would miss the point but you are right, "it sounds surprisingly human". it's an interesting technique. I feel I was trying to push Melodyne beyond what it is supposed to do.
