Hi there,

Bigtex asked me to post a Audiodemo when i have finished my Polivoksfilter,
so here it is.
It is my first Module made just out of a PCB.
After finishing the Module it din't worked because i forgot to solder a Bridge, so it took now some Time and help.
My Polivoksfilter is made with UAs776 instead of LM4250.
In the synthesizerforum.de they recommend to take this ones.
The sound seems to be much more character full

VCOs are two from Curetronic with 1Okt detune, and then just 1 VCA and the Envelop to the VCA. (both Doepfer).
I just tourned the Cutoff by Hand and sometimes i increased the Reso.

For Synths the Polivoks filter has a very Acidlike sound. The Curetronic VCOs also.
A soundfile i heard some days ago with Synthcom VCOs was complete different, but it was a modified Polivoks with Cv control for the Reso.
Must look if i can do this also to one of myne. ( i made two, but just one is in use. )

Attention: the Soundfile has very harsh Reso at some points. It's 256kb MP3, and a very simple prahse with no musical content, but ok to get an Impression for quick.

[Editor's note: see http://m.bareille.free.fr/modular1/vcf_polivoks/vcf_polivoks.htm --mosc]

Oh, and here a Foto, one is EuroRack and the second, coloured one is my first Frac Rac Module, but it's not in use because i have no Powersupply for my Frac Rac.
The second one has a second Input with Attenuator.
Marc Bareille recommend to to that because of the high power of its Input.
But Problems with distorting i hadn't yet.

and no comment please about my very .............................ähmmm , very fast done lettering, Laughing
i'm happy that i finished this modules with self made Faceplates.
Oh, and the second one shows the way i'll go: Wood Faceplate with Papercoating and handpainting Very Happy

That thing sounds great! So dirty and screechy. It barely sounds like a filter at all. Amazing.

When my next paycheck comes in, I'm ordering two of these and the parts!

Yes, but anfortunatly the MP3 File is not the same as the wav.

I look that i can make some more Files.
But in the moment i'm not patching often, and when than with my BBD module from Doepfer.
Another one, good for a Demo Very Happy

I´ve just finished this vcf too

here are some soundclips

(the sound source is a cross modulated dual m-112 vco, the polivoks vcf is controlled by env gen + analog seq. second channel of seq also controls amount of osc cross mod)

soundclip 1 : lp mode freq swept from min to max with lo, mid, hi & max resonance settings

soundclip 2 : bp mode freq swept from min to max with lo, mid, hi & max resonance settings

BRUTAL!!! Thanks for the great clip. That sounds really amazing.

Those crazy Russians. NASA designed a ridiculous anti-gravity pen to use in space, and the Cosmonauts used pencils. There's always a good, cheap way to get a job done, and this filter proves it!

I´ve used an ic called LS776CB (wich someone said is not exactly the same as UA776) that a friend of mine got from a company in u.k somewhere, however the vcf seems to work fine with that one too ! Smile

cheers
