At least that's what I infer from the following item on the Waldorf website:

License SL is the Sample Play Option for Blofeld Desktop. With this license, 60 Megabyte of Sample Flash Memory are available for factory or user samples. These samples and multisamples go through Blofeld's synthesis engine just like oscillators – an enourmous extension to Blofeld's sonic possibilities!

Yes, the waldorf mailinglist is buzzing for a few weeks already about how this is implemented, how much the upgrade will cost, whether it's fair, blablabla

The desktop version is identical in features to the keyboard version (except keys of course Idea ), but in it's standard version the sampling part is locked.
