| Is it when you try to open a patch or perf right away when downloading, without saving it first? I had problems with the file association, therefore they wouldn't load unless I saved 'em to disk first. After associating the file with editor program manually, it worked on my pc. Just try to to save it to disk and start it that way, it might work. |

2 or three days ago it was all fine, i tested some patches from here.
I can't rightclick anymore to files und save them first on disk because i installed Macromedia dreamweaver 4Weeks ago. whenever i rightclick on a file it will save it as a php file
Yes performances und patches, nothing works with loading directly
It must be as Fozzie wrote.....................hmmmm ? Macromedia is allready deinstalled.
shit, only idea is to set up the whole PC with XP new. |

Wowowow, not so fast . What if you just try what worked for me: go to a folder on your harddisk that contains g2 patches and performances. Right-click on of each file-types and choose 'open with [arrow]' and choose something like 'choose program...' (bottom option). You could choose any installed program now if all is well, but if the NMG2 editor program is not on this list, you can direct XP to the clavia folder that contains the editor. Check the option to always use 'this program to open this file type'.
After I went through this manual file-association routine for both the patches and the performances, the direct-download way of working was back fully functional again. It's easy; wouldn't hurt to try before messing with reinstalling things. |

Yes, please try Fozzie's suggestion before doing anything more drastic. If you can't double click on a .pch2 or .prf2 file on the local disk, you can't get the browser to work. _________________ --Howard

OhOh,
ok, the files are really no more shown with the G2 filelogo.
I did now as told, but than i get a windows error Message, something with system 32 and now are the files shown with a other signet. (blue strips and a red A,( I'm not so familiar with computers ))
My nglish is not good enough to explain it all |

I guess the icons you see now indicate that there is no more functional file association for this type of file. Maybe you can get someone with some computer knowledge to help you to do this correctly; it shouldn't be too hard.
Best of luck! |

A quick way to repair the file associations is to de-install the NM editor and then install it again.
edit : When you can't explain in English ... there are quite a few here being able to read German, so maybe try that. _________________ Jan

Hi,
I guess it won't solve Funky40's problem, but perhaps it's of use for others: Whenever I download patches and performances the download message window reads the correct file's name, e.g. "xyz.pch2", but on the HD it's saved as "xyz.pch2..pch2". Subsequent on deleting that doubled extension everythings works fine.
