I am guessing this is a kinda Clavia Stage-ish take on some sort of organ thinge... you have seen the pix at http://clavia.se ? _________________ A Charity Pantomime in aid of Paranoid Schizophrenics descended into chaos yesterday when someone shouted, "He's behind you!"

I don't think so, probably a dual manual B-3 clone
I guess we just have to wait a few more weeks to be sure... |

As we know for sure it isn't a modular update, can this thread be moved to 'new gear'?
I would laugh my lungs out when it appears to be Clavia's new living room organ

what's up with that? | Haven't heard that one before Let's hope it's just rumors, 'cause it couldn't be good for G2 support if it were true.... _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

| I'm just guessing really, but I thought if their most recent addition is the Stage, why would they want to bring out another organ type of affair? Hmmm. |

I'm a bit puzzled too, I see no need to have another organ after the electro's and stages, but then again, I'm no organ player... _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

Where did you hear this?
I just bought my G2 in November. It's a nice instrument but sometimes I feel like I made a huge mistake in buying it especially since there doesn't seem to be much support for it. |

No, that was a brilliant move!! Ít's a wonderful machine; the only thing is that there is uncertainty about a new OS update, but even without that it's a joy to use imho _________________ Spinning at ~0.0000115740740741 Hz |

That's not good. I assume the G2 Keyboard and Engine are still available.
I do prefer the G2 Keyboard (due to its size and alignment of the panel/knobs) over the G2X but it certainly is disappointing to hear this news. Is the G2X available on other continents?

Don't worry about the support -- this community is all about support
I do hope Clavia finds/considers some time to work on a little update/fixes for us once this new mystery model is released.

Wouldn't the G2X be removed from the Clavia site? It made the transition to their new format. I really doubt its been discontinued.
As for support, I really don't see much difference between support for the NM Classic and the G2. Clavia have always made it clear that this is a niche instrument, a project which is dear to Hans' heart, and that they only have the resources to work on one project at a time. They've also told several people that an update is planned, including a universal binary version of the editor.
And like Dasz said, the e-m community is one of the best support networks for any synth, period, imho. |

The support is definitely disappointing...
...but on the plus side the machine is fantastic already!
Let's face it, the new Clavia product will be dull! _________________ Steve |

try looking around for a G2X. here's a few places i've looked, i think they all stocked them to begin with...
novamusik.com - not listed
zzounds.com - not listed (no G2 or Engine either)
8thstreet.com - G2X in stock
sweetwater.com - G2X in stock
someone said musiciansfriend was out, but it looks like they've still got them. sorry, maybe this was just a scare but i was suprised to see that novamusik didn't carry them anymore. they were the ones that had the last batch of MicroMods. no idea though, sorry if this is bad info. surely i hope that they haven't stopped development on the G2 platform (though i'm more than happy with it as is). maybe they ditched it in favor of a table-top model G2?

| I would personally love to see a table top model of the G2. Something resembling a Virus desktop I would buy in a flash. |

ooh yes.. an extra pair of inputs and outputs would be very nice
If we're entering total fantasy territory then what I'd love most is a physical input/ouput expander.. or another 4 internal busses _________________ Steve |

Yeah, I know. I just have a habit (or the bad luck) of buying things right before they become obsolete. I guess it's to be expected with technology. It is still fun to play with. |
