Hi everyone, I've got a question regarding midi CC messages and the morph groups.

I will be getting a G2 engine, and I currently own some Behringer guitar box with a lot of knobs that can send midi CC #12-19. Now if I look in the software and assign a midi CC to a morph group, CC # 14-19 cannot be assigned because they miss in this list.
I noticed in the midi send and receive modules that these CC#'s are available. Can I reroute the CC#14-19 with a pair of midi modules and still control the morph groups with the rerouted midi CC#, or does it just forward the new (usable) midi CC # to the midi out?

Any ideas? I was really hoping to use these knobs for all-purpose knobturning, but this seems to be a really strange coincidence with these non-compatible CC#'s.

Looks like to me, the MIDI assign doen't work for CCs 11, 17 and 18. I'm not sure where you got 14 - 19.

Anyhow, I did set up a patch where the G2 will receive a CC signal on one of those "inaccessable" CCs, in this case 17, with the MIDI control receive module and I was able to remap it to an appropriate CC, like 22, which can be assigned to a morph group.

On my Doepfer Pocket Control I can sweep this oscillator through it's entire audible range with a knob programed to CC 17 and morph group 1 via this patch.

Thanks for the reply. The missing #'s 14-19 might be due to the fact that I did the assign procedure on a computer that was not attached to a G2? But in the list after 'morphgroup-->right-click-->assign midi cc (or something like that) I miss the entries 14-19 in the selectable list, they are just not there.

But I'm very glad the workaround also works, so there's no problem whatsoever.

*just checking*: in the 'dialog' window where one can select the midi CC, these numbers are available in the v1.10 editor without an attached G2:

2, 3, 4, 8, 10, 12, 13, 20, 21, 22, etc (the rest is pretty much complete up till 127 with just a few obvious ones missing)

Is this different in a 'connected' editor?

I should have mentioned, I'm using a beta version of the editor, so there are probably differences. Anyway, you are right, "there's no problem whatsoever. "

CC's 14-19 are missing in the assign, editor version 1.1, engine connected or not. If you have your controller attached to the pc like I have, you could also consider using a progam like http://www.midiox.com/, which has a 'MIDI data mapping transform' dialog, or indeed your favorite sequencer, which probably has some similar function.
