i built a new module combining a simple divider and attenuverters. this is what i use my existing attenuverter and a divider for frequently: nice sequencing.
this module is bipolar and it is working quite nice. i still have to straighten out some minor issues...
nevertheless, sometimes it is good to build something just to recognize that you don't need/want it!? i mean, why bipolar? since i use it for sequencing, and since i use quantizers i would do fine with a unipoar module. so i will redesign/simplify the whole thing, i believe...

Hi all ..
I know it's not really good looking (comparing) ,but i was in a rush to play it .. it's not much it's just the doepfer diy synth with 2 more lfo's added .. and a dual which needs to be wired .. two sample and holds splitters ,clock ,noise gen .. and the bugbrand dual pattern gen which i'm wiring right now ... thanks to everybody in the forum they've been understanding for my dumb questions
greetings

hi mathias great looking module as always
not certain i am understanding what it does though
Bipolar adjustment of CV at specific clock divisions ?
I presume the jacks next to each attenuverter pot are CV inputs and
as each division is reached that modified CV is sent to the bottom CV out jack
is this close ? I could see how negatively modified CV's could be desirable
but as you say not so when quantizers are used after

cheers

each of the 4 dividers outputs are sent to an attenuverter. this voltage is then sent to a single out, and to the sum. so at the SUM out you get stepped voltages (see screenshot below). it works at audio rates too.
for the next module i will just have attenuators, and the divisions will go to the single outs w/o attenuation.

I use a Binary Zone (bipolar) and find that even when feeding a 0-5V quantizer it's nice to have the bipolar adjustments. Yes, the negatve voltages get clipped but that can be a nice effect. In any case when "composing" I find it easiest to start in the middle (pitch) and work positively and negatively from that point.

I like that you have the separate outputs on your.

It has been a while since I posted here but I finally have something to show.

youtube description:
Quote:
This project has been a long time coming, but the first prototype is finally done. Still some minor changes to be made, mainly around the filter and a CV input for the filter. Im currently developing a kit, contact me if you're interested.
-2 triangle oscillators with fine tune knob for those tearing slow drones.
-2 triangle LFO's with interchangable capacitors to set the range.
-LFO amount for both sides
-LED reflector rate indicators
-custom filter with resonance control
-on/off and volume

sorry for the bad video quality, my camera is old and doesn't like low lighting conditions. The audio was recorded raw into ableton live directly from the output without any filtering or effects.

And here are the first 2 tracks made with the machine:

I always take apart all kinds of stuff and I found these little reflector bars under an LCD screen as backlight. They have little grooves on one side and they are sloped on the other so the light is spread sort of evenly.

Just finished the +/-15V 2x1A PSU for the modular. Smile
I've chosen for connectors instead of a direct connection between the panel
and the actual PSU, so it's easy to take it out. Because I don't have another
PSU for testing modules and it also makes it easier to replace it in case I
need to upgrade to a more powerfull one. I still have to make something to
distribute the power to the modules but haven't found the right connectors
yet.

Nice color scheme. I also like the idea to include the make of the circuit (Yusynth, CGS, Fonitronic, etc) on the front panel. It documents the lineage of the circuits and likely brings a smile to the faces of the people who so generously share these circuits.

Ironically, though my synthesizer is an Aries synthesizer, now it is only about 1/3 Aries due to the additions over the last year.

Thanx fonik & Kevin ...It is really nice to get compliments from Synth Guru's Smile

I have used a CGS70 PCB (Dev-mod Mixer/Inverter block) http://www.cgs.synth.net/modules/cgs70_mix.html ...I do not have electronic knowledge, but with the OPA2134 instead off the TL072, sounds better and deeper. I have used low noise resistors and cheapers 47pF ceramic caps http://www.reichelt.de/?ACTION=3;ARTICLE=9297;GROUPID=;SID=13Tb0O5X8AAAIAAD@NgSk80f28f7e58da9ed3910a9e0820ac8f3e

Maybe it would be possible to improve it more with some lower pots/resistors values, better caps and LM4562.

What a beauty, I really like the attention to detail and the black perfboard. What schematic did you follow?

Thanks Smile

It's pretty much the basic LM317/LM337 schematic from the datasheet, which
is similar to the Ken Stone CGS66 +/- 15 Volt Power Supply but with some different
component values. (4700uF/35V Caps, 240/2K4+500R trimpot)

Just finished up this module. Its function is quite simple: when it receives a gate signal, the module generates a "bend" (transient voltage).
